Jason Evermore (jay-sun ev-er-moor) is the third of five Yomi created during the Age of Geddon. One of the more powerful Cetra, and one to whom very few other beings compare, Evermore was granted the Zealian power of sorcery, which would mix with his own Prime Cetran innate power to transform him into a Yomi. Following this, Evermore joined the crusade against the enemies of Geddon and assisted in the splitting of the universe into its multiple dimensions and planes, to secure peace and order for the Prime Cetrans. His entire life has been dedicated to the study of magic and science and the attempts to merge the two, and holds a very strong respect for technology and its advances. A scholar by nature, Evermore was granted the title of Doctor, which would only represent the very top of his wealth of knowledge and experience.

In recent times, Jason Evermore has assisted in the construction of the Star Alliance, and is a strong proponent of the Carrington Institute of Technology.

History

Geddon

Doctor Evermores origins, like almost all of the information about Geddon, are shrouded in mystery. It is known that during the First War, Evermore was a prominent member of the Order of Light under High Sorcerer Capek. He was one of many who objected to the proposed United Geddon Military's attempt to maintain power at the end of the war, however his actions during the civil war to follow are unknown.

At some point, he made contact with the Zealians, who agreed to imbue him with Zealian power, along with four others to form the Yomi. The combination of both Zealian and Cetran power gave him a superior command of arcane ability, allowing him and the others to divide the warring Geddon into dimensions and planes, ending the Cetran Civil War and with it, the Age of Geddon.

Rygar

After the fall of Geddon, Evermore and the remaining Yomi settled on Rygar as a place to construct a new Cetran colony, along with Capek. The colony became expansive as the years and centuries passed, and eventually it became an inter dimensional hub through which certain kinds of Cetra deemed to be peaceful were able to traverse to other dimensions deemed safe.

Under the prospering new civilization, Doctor Evermore began to distinguish himself as the scientist of the Yomi, developing technology to stabilize inter-dimensional travel and (unsuccessful) attempts to shield against the anti-soul weapons that had destroyed Geddon. He was also the primary developer of the Aegis Engine, a Cetran device which, by using markers, kept track of different dimensions and factored in Dimensional drift, which allowed constant dimensional travel to exist without incident.

The civilization on Rygar however was destroyed at the hands of Mab at the start of the Fae/Cetra war. Being one of the few survivors, Evermore was able to flee the colony like the other Yomi, through a freshly opened Dimensional Conduit. He had planned to come back with Alteran reinforcements from Earth while the other Yomi scrambled to find other support. Unfortunately, the population of Earth had regressed to human at that point, and before he was able to return to the hub, the Aegis Engine was destroyed, stranding him on Earth circa 20,000 BC. With the destruction of the engine and surrounding technology, and with Alteran technology in that dimension long since lost, there was no way to form a conduit back to Rygar or the other Yomi. His only option was to make use of the Alteran Stargate network, crude in comparison to the Dimensional Conduit System, to access one of the failing dimensional conduits, placing him squarely in the court of Melbu Frahma and the newly formed Cetran Alliance.

The Fae/Cetra War

Doctor Evermores exact involvement in the Fae/Cetra war is unknown. It is believed he had some involvement in the construction of Installation 15. What is known is that at some point after the war, he attempted to travel back to Earth, but his passage destabilized the conduit fully, stranding him there.

Earth and The Xanatos Administration

At some point around the 1950's, Jason Evermore, appearing as an young man, enrolled in Yale on Earth, and took an advanced theoretical physics course under the esteemed Doctor Albert Ruffleberg, becoming the star pupil of the class. During the course of his studies, Jason began to understand and further comprehend the nature of the dimensions that had been created and manipulated, and began to formulate a way to reconstruct the Aegis Engine without access to the original Cetran markers found on Rygar. Doctor Ruffleberg however, disappeared in 1965 along with his entire family. Unhindered, he continued in his studies, but began to realize the required components were well outside of the reach of most individuals, including himself. After easily acquiring a PhD at Yale, he then proceeded to teach in Doctor Rufflebergs place, becoming a world renowned expert and pioneer in the field of Theoretical Physics in the process.

It was at Yale that now Doctor Evermore met a young(er) Daemon Xanatos, a political science student with the intent to enter the political race and Uncle of developing entrepreneur David Xanatos of Xanatos Enterprises. Jason realized that by supporting Daemon in a bid for leadership of the United States, he could gain access to the materials needed to make a functional 'interloper', a device which could reconstruct the pathways through null space for short periods of time, and an Aegis Engine, allowing him to make contact with the other Yomi. At this point, Jason began to set the framework for his theories, placing orders through Xanatos Enterprises in exchange for his assistance in the campaign. Finally, in 2001, the campaign bid was successful, and Daemon Xanatos became president elect of the United States of America.

Wasting no time, Evermore began using the vast resources of the United States to construct an expansive underground facility at Area 51 housing the Chronomaster. Funding for the project and support were provided under the guise of a temporal experiment, allowing him construct his project in accordance with his specifications. On April 6th, 2003, the project was activated up for the first time with the strength of 21 nuclear reactors supporting it. Unfortunately, the device did not work as Doctor Evermore planned (certainly not as the US government did), and a miscalculation about the depth of Null Space lead to a wide scale breach that weakened the inter-dimensional barrier, causing a mass dimensional destabilization and the destruction of the State of Nevada, an event that was cited as a biological terrorist attack.

Personality

Doctor Evermore is dismissive and brash to anyone who challenges him intellectually, but can be convinced of his own errors with sufficient proof. He tends to be coldest to people he doesn't know, however he is not afraid to show kindness or sympathy if the situation is appropriate. Vastly intelligent, Doctor Evermore can come off as arrogant, until its proven that more times than not, he does know what he is talking about. Due to the events on Rygar, he holds a strong resentment towards Fae that is gradually lifting.

Capabilities

Physical

Although not regarded as a physical fighter by any means, Doctor Evermore has demonstrated a proficiency in standard combat, both with a sword (his weapon of choice being some form of holy energy saber), an assault rifle (the P90) and a heavy energy cannon (Plasma Repeater). His exact physical capabilities are unknown, since he has never limited himself strictly to physical action and typically relies on his magic.

Magical

Doctor Jason Evermore, as a Yomi, possesses a phenomenal command over most forms of the arcane, and the extent of his powers are not entirely known. Although typically restrained in nature and reluctant to use his powers, he has demonstrated the ability to destroy a capital ship with a single spell (admittedly to his own detriment), amongst other powerful abilities. Most of his prowess remains unknown, however he has been proven to have a mastery of psionic telekinesis and electrokinesis. Beyond his direct destructive abilities, he is capable of the manipulation of planes, as was demonstrated by the construction of his own pseudo plane.

In an alternate timeline, as Emperor Evermore, his powers had grown in magnitude, giving him the ability to destroy entire city blocks with a wave of his hand. Whether this was due to the manipulation of the JENOVA cells in his body, a natural evolution of his powers, or merely his unrestrained abilities remains to be seen.

Affiliations

Doctor Evermore serves as an assistant of Alliance President Daemon Xanatos, and is responsible for the design and construction of many of the alliances larger ships, including the restoration of SDF-1, the Air Fortress X line of capital ships. His official role is director of the Alliance's Department of Scientific Development, an extension of his unofficial roll in the United States Government under the Xanatos Administration.

With the Dimensional Warriors, Doctor Evermore has served in the role of advisor to the team for several years, and has on occasion directly aided the team with supplies or assistance in combat. Specifically, he holds a strong relationship with Jameson and Aiko, however considers himself friends with (or at least tolerant of) the remainder of the team.
