Irisia is a highly populated world. Near the industrial age, the overpopulation was already starting to affect everyone's lives and rationing became common. When the technology allowed it, the many governments focused on a means on which to reduce the population, and a long time project came to be: The Exodus project. At first the Exodus project was a means that to send thousands of people to the moon which would free up some place on the planet, but as that didn't help too much, the Exodus project became something more. The Lunar Domes on Miirka II were going to become the building station for large colonizing ships to send out to other worlds. The low gravity of Miirka II made the building of such ships much easier then bringing each parts from Planet to Space on Irisia.
The Irisian First Contact was with the Trade Federation. They found the world to be quite primitive compared to their own level of technology, but overtime a trade alliance was formed between the two worlds. This alliance jumped the Irisian technology forward by a good leap and new ideologies were born through this leap. The Trading Alliance between the two peoples has known its ups and downs, but overall there has been no quarrels that couldn't be solved with some diplomacy. Though the Trade Federation is the main trading partner of the Irisian, there has been lesser trading alliances made with other corporations such as Nexus or Vector Industries.
The Irisian Economy holds strongly on specialised craftsmanship. Irisian Builders have generally better education and skills. The Trade Federation would often sell parts and raw material to the Irisian Industries and buy back the high quality product to be resold at a greater price. Some technological breakthroughs has been achieved, most of them stolen by richer corporate worlds and patented in their name. Among other things, the Trade Federation also sell them food, which helps greatly with the planet's overpopulation. After the First Contact, a lot of people left for other worlds.
A good hundred artificial satellites and a ton of space junk orbit the planet. The majority of the satellites serve for space observation or communication, and a few of them are of military purpose. There are two natural satellites to Irisia: Miirka and Miirka II.
Miirka is a tiny piece of rock. Too small to build anything on it, the military uses it for low-gravity training exercises. This Satellite first called Miirka was back then thought to be the only Moon.
Previously named Ekoramiir, it was believed to be another world. However, when it was discovered it was a second satellite, it came to be renamed Miirka II over the years.
