News Item: 6.2D Side Story: Emerald City

Meanwhile..elsewhere in the galaxy....the sun rises over a beautiful city...all the buildings a glittering green, seemingly made out of a dark, rich emerald. People go to and fro, working, living, going about their daily lives.
Suddenly, an explosion rocks the city...shards of glittering emerald flying through the sky as a massive crimson tank, metal, with red crystal plates and emblems on each side...punches through, firing at civilians as they run.
Aircraft fly overhead, bombing and strafing the town as the innocents run for cover, fleeing in terror as crimson tanks and bipedal machines crush their way toward a large building...an armored crimson APC stopping in front of the building....as a tank knocks down a flagpole with the emerald city's emblem...crushing it beneath it's treads. Soon enough, crimson garbed troops come out of the building, dragging a man dressed in rather regal garb out, throwing him at the feet of a man dressed in an impressive gray uniform, with a red arm band. The old man begs for his people...before the gray clothed officer simply shoots him in the head with a pistol.
The man in the uniform looks to the town and shrugs. "Kill them all. To the last man. The Women and Children we will return to the mines." he waves a hand as he steps back into a sleek looking hovercraft, which lifts off, and flies toward the rising twin suns.
Hours pass...and the town is a pile of broken green crystal...blood splattered here and there...a line of women and children in shackles being loaded into a line of trucks, and driving toward the west. After hours and hours...a force of sapphire blue soldiers and light armored vehicles rolls into town..a large sapphire colored flying ship hovering overhead...searching here and there..helping what few survivors remain....until a radioman for one of the teams searching town sets his radio town...a crackle..before "Recon Force...get back as fast as you can...Sapphire City is under attack!"
